What is an allergy?
An allergy is an abnormal reaction or increased sensitivity to certain substances. The allergic individual produces symptoms when exposed to these substances, which are harmless to non allergic people. The main reason for this is that allergic people make a special type of antibody called immunoglobin E, which can react with environmental substances in harmful way. These substances which lead to secretion of antibodies are called allergens.
The reaction between allergen and antibodies causes the release of substances such as histamine, which produce allergic symptoms in the skin, the nose, the eyes, the chest, etc.
The most common allergens are animal dander, pollens, house dust, house mites, moulds, some drugs, and many food stuffs, especially fish, eggs, milk, and nuts. Bee and wasp stings may cause allergic reactions, with fatal results in rare cases. Additionally, feathers, wood, dyes, cosmetics and perfumes may act as allergen.
Two main types of allergies
Seasonal allergies like hay fever are ore common in the springs when plant pollination begins. tress and grass cause most symptoms in the spring, while ragweed is responsible for the majority of autumn symptoms.
Perennial allergies are usually year around problems. Common triggers for perennial allergies include mould spores, pet dander and dust mite.
Common allergens are pollens (trees, grass, and weeds). Moulds, house dust, dust mites, bee stings, medications, foods, animals, air pollutants.
Allergic reactions or diseases may involve any part of the body; the most frequently involved are the nose and chest, with results of hay fever, asthma, respectively. The skin and eyes also commonly show allergic symptoms.

Homeopathic treatment for an allergy.Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic system of medicine. Sure enough over the counter medications will give you hot and temporary relief, with drowsiness.
The big problem is that it ignores nature’s infallible law of action followed by an equal opposite reaction.
The result is that attacks of the complaint keeps coming back with vengeance. An ever increasing dose of the medication is required as the patient becomes more resistant to its side effects. And then side effects, so commonly accepted, add to the misery of the already troubled patient.
Allergy shots:
Unfortunately, like most vaccinations, allergy shots are based on only one law of homeopathy, ignoring two other essential ones; one remedy or substance at the time, prepared in infinitesimal doses.
The overall tendency to sensitivity and to allergic reactions can be permanently changed, for life, through homeopathy. This type of constitutional chronic treatment can only be done by a homeopathic practitioner. Your homeopath practitioner will be able to give you a special remedy.
