You can, and in my practice that is the only way it happens. Classical homeopathy depends on a detailed conversation rather than a physical examination, so a consultation by phone or video covers the same ground as one across a desk. We talk, I study the case and choose a remedy, and the remedy arrives in your mailbox with written instructions, usually within a few days of the call.
Why homeopathy works over a phone line
Other kinds of care lean on hands and instruments. A chiropractor needs your spine in the room. A dermatologist needs to see the rash under good light. Classical homeopathy needs your account of things: when the trouble started, what makes it better and worse, how you sleep, what you crave, how you take bad news. All of that travels perfectly well down a phone line. The clients I speak with from kitchen tables in Port Orange and the ones calling from three time zones away get the same questions, in the same order, with the same attention.

What a good virtual session needs from you
- A quiet room with a door. A parked car or a lanai with a lawn crew next door will not do. You will be saying things you may not have said aloud before, and you should not have to lower your voice.
- Your timeline and your medication list. Have them in front of you on paper or on a screen.
- A charged device and a glass of water. For video, test the camera once beforehand.
- Something to write with. I give instructions at the end of the call, and it helps to have them down in your own hand before we hang up.
In late June the afternoon storms arrive most days between two and four. If you are booking a video slot, mornings tend to be steadier for internet and for nerves.
How the remedy reaches you
After the consultation I take time with the case and choose a single remedy and potency. It goes into the mail with written instructions on how to take it and what to pay attention to. Follow-ups are booked the same way and happen the same way, by phone or video, with anything new mailed out afterward.
What a follow-up looks like online
The first follow-up is usually four to six weeks after we begin, and it is a 30-minute call. I will have my notes from the first conversation open, and I will ask what has changed: the main complaint, of course, but also sleep, energy, mood, appetite, the things people do not think to connect. If the remedy is working we often do nothing but wait. If it is close but not exact, I change it, and the new one goes in the mail that week. People sometimes expect a follow-up to feel like a lesser appointment because it is shorter and on the phone. It is where most of the actual course-correction in a case happens.
Snowbirds, travelers and people who move
A surprising amount of Ormond Beach lives somewhere else from May to October. Virtual care means the homeopath does not have to change when the address does. Someone who begins working with me on allergies in Ormond Beach in the spring can keep the same case, the same notes and the same remedy sequence going from a lake house in Ohio, and pick up again when the car comes back down I-95 in the fall. The same is true for someone who relocates for work or for a college student who started with me at home.
Privacy on a call
Nobody else is on the line with me. Where you take the call is your choice, and choosing carefully matters more than people expect: the case is only as good as what you are willing to say. If a camera makes you guarded, use the phone. If your household is crowded, book a time when it is not. My notes stay with me, as they would in any office.
When virtual care is the wrong choice
Homeopathy is complementary care, and a phone consultation is not a substitute for being examined. If you have chest pain, a sudden spell of dizziness with weakness or slurred speech, a fever with back pain, blood in your stool or urine, a new lump, or an injury, see a doctor or call 911 first. The same goes for an infant with a fever and for any complaint that has not been diagnosed at all. Once your physician has seen you, I am glad to work alongside whatever they find. If you call me first with any of those, I will send you to your doctor before we go further.
